In 2013 at the request of the parents of a village we visited, we opened a girls' school near Udaipur, in the Rajasthan. It will also try to reduce imbalances between girls and boys and respond to the challenge of access to education.
Located in the village of
Trestha this 1st school was installed in a grain silo lent by the village chief. In the views of success
met over the months and the growing number of schoolgirls attending the institution; the school has become too small. We decided to build a new one, more adapted and bigger to accommodate the girls on the waiting list. From 60 we moved to 110 girls.
The current school consists of 7 classes, a library, a kitchen, sanitary facilities, a playground with a play area (consisting of swings, turnstiles, slides, rocking seesaws) and a badminton court.
Courses are taught inHindi
and in respect of the traditions and values of the country. The qualified teachers
teach mathematics, geography, science, art and English. A state exam validates teaching and continues to college and then high school.
Thanks tosponsorships girls receive quality education, supported by their parents and encouraged by the on-site team; and the annual visit of
Child CARE Monaco to, among other things, evaluate their
progression.
