The Basera Bal Center is a host house for the street children of the city of
Jaipur.
It welcomes today
200 boys
from 6 to 18 years old.
Children stay here for 12 to 18 months to rehabilitate themselves in society; working with educators on the aftermath of their painful beginning of life. Some were slaves, others suffered traumatic experiences (drugs, robberies, sexual abuse) and others were even sold by their parents because they could not feed them.
Thanks to our
Sponsorship Program
on site we offer the opportunity to
20
of these children from very disadvantaged backgrounds to go toschool. These children used to work in the streets selling newspapers, postcards ...
We visit them every year to follow their progress. Mr. Paliwal, our on-site contact
with whom we talk daily, is present with his team 24/24
to make children feel like family.
Some are really traumatized and need a support
particular. For this reason, we offer yoga class
children so that their fears and trauma are better managed.
